DISC

Understand behaviour to communicate better, every day and as a team.

DISC describes our preferred ways of acting and interacting through four behavioural styles. Easy to understand and immediately useful, it helps each person adapt their communication and helps teams work better together.

Four behavioural styles

The DISC model is based on the work of psychologist William Moulton Marston, published in 1928. It describes observable behaviour along two axes: pace, faster or more measured, and focus, more on tasks or more on people.

Everyone combines all four styles, with one or two dominant ones. DISC measures neither intelligence nor skills: it describes behavioural preferences, which also vary with context.

  • D for DominanceDirect, focused on results and decisions
  • I for InfluenceEnthusiastic, persuasive, people-oriented
  • S for SteadinessCalm, attentive, reliable and cooperative
  • C for ConscientiousnessPrecise, analytical, quality-driven

Frequently asked questions

What is DISC?

A behavioural model based on the work of William Moulton Marston, describing four styles: Dominance, Influence, Steadiness and Conscientiousness. It helps you understand how each person acts and communicates, so you can adapt to others.

Does DISC put people in boxes?

No. Everyone combines all four styles, and the profile describes behavioural preferences, not a fixed personality. There is no good or bad style: each has its strengths and blind spots.

How long does the questionnaire take?

A few minutes online. It is followed by a debrief with your coach to understand and confirm your profile.

How is it different from MBTI or Process Communication?

DISC describes observable behaviour; MBTI describes preferences; Process Communication focuses on communication and stress. We choose the tool according to your goals.

Can we run a DISC workshop with a whole team?

Yes. Each member discovers their profile, then the workshop works on how the styles complement each other and on communication within the team. See also our interpersonal communication coaching.

Can coaching be done remotely?

Yes. The questionnaire is completed online, and debriefs and workshops can be held online, in English or in French.
