Communication and Collaboration

Understand yourself, understand others and work better together: individual coaching and team workshops.

Communication and collaboration can be learned and practised. Influence, feedback, conflict management, collective intelligence: concrete skills for your managers and teams, all built on emotional intelligence.

  • 4 skills communication, influence, feedback, conflict
  • Individual or team coaching, workshops, training
  • Tools PCM, DISC, MBTI…
  • Collaboration cohesion, collective intelligence

It all starts with emotional intelligence

Before any technique comes the way each of us experiences and manages our own emotions, and those of others. It is the foundation of any communication that works, especially when things get tense.

  • Self-awareness: understanding our emotions, recognizing their influence and using them to guide our decisions.
  • Self-control: controlling our emotions and impulses to better adapt to change.
  • Understanding others: detecting and understanding other people’s emotions, and responding to them.
  • Relationship management: inspiring and influencing others while supporting their development, and managing conflict.

Four skills to develop

Interpersonal communication

Better understanding oneself, one’s strengths and weaknesses in communication. Striving to understand the other person and shifting perspective to broaden one’s understanding of reality.

Influence

Understanding the needs of colleagues and partners to adapt one’s communication, in substance and in form, and bring others on board without imposing.

Feedback

Giving and receiving constructive feedback, rephrasing, recognizing what works and saying what needs to change, without damaging the relationship.

Constructive feedback workshops

Conflict management

Understanding each person’s role, stakes and personality to anticipate conflict, deal with difficult personalities and handle delicate situations with finesse.

Conflict management workshops

From communication to collaboration

Working better together

A team that communicates well does not necessarily collaborate well. Collaboration is built: a shared purpose, common rules of the game, and space to think and decide together.

Team cohesion

Define the team’s mission, values and ways of working together.

Collective intelligence

Facilitated seminars and co-creation workshops, to bring out the team’s own solutions.

Codevelopment

Peer learning, helping one another solve real situations.

Professional codevelopment

Multicultural teams

Help people from different cultures work together, after a merger or across countries.

Cultural transitions

For individuals and for teams

Individual

“Process Communication helps identify the type of the other partner in interpersonal communication to understanding ‘what’s the game.’ It provides keys to explain the present, the past and predict in some extent the future of my interpersonal reactions and interactions. Fascinating.”

Frequently asked questions

Can you really learn to communicate better?

Yes. Communication can be learned and practised: by understanding how you and others work, developing your emotional intelligence and practising concrete techniques such as constructive feedback or rephrasing.

What is Process Communication?

A model that helps you understand yourself and others better and adapt your communication to each person. We use it in coaching and in training, along with DISC or MBTI as needed. See Process Communication.

How do the in-company workshops work?

Workshops last half a day, one day or three days depending on your wishes and availability, in person or virtually. They are hands-on: each participant leaves with a precise action plan.

Do I have to choose between individual coaching and a team workshop?

No, the two complement each other. A workshop creates a common language within the team; individual coaching helps each person apply it to their own situations.

How can collaboration within a team be improved?

By working on both each person’s communication and how the team works as a whole: clarifying the team’s mission and rules of the game, creating spaces to think together such as facilitated seminars or codevelopment, and learning to understand each other across differences in personality or culture.

How do you deal with a difficult personality?

By first understanding what is at play: their personality type, their needs, their reactions under stress, and your own. That work is what allows you to adapt your communication and defuse situations before they turn into conflict.

Can coaching be done remotely?

Yes. We meet clients in Montreal, Quebec City and Paris, and both sessions and workshops can be held online.
