Professional separation coaching

Parting ways with one of your managers? Take care of them, of the team that stays, and of your reputation.

We don’t do outplacement: we step in beforehand. Time to process the break, take stock and define a new project, so the person can face what comes next with energy.

  • A dedicated coach chosen by the person
  • Work and life both taken into account
  • At their own pace in person or online

Take care of your people

Your social responsibility and your reputation are at stake

A change of ownership or senior management, a dismissal, a return from sick leave or parental leave with no position available: a separation is never pleasant.

The human cost for the person can be heavy. It also weighs on the team that stays, and on the organization’s reputation. How you part ways with your people is seen, inside and outside.

Before outplacement, not instead of it

An abrupt departure rarely leaves the energy to start job hunting right away. Before rewriting their résumé, the person needs to turn the page and know what they really want.

Our role

Process, take stock, look ahead

  • Support the person emotionally
  • Review their skills and motivations
  • Activate their resources and regain confidence
  • Define a new professional project

Next

The job search

Résumé, applications, networking, interview preparation: that is the job of an outplacement firm. The person gets there with a clear project and the energy to pursue it.

If their project is starting a business or changing careers, we can keep supporting them as they put it into action.

A four-step approach

  1. Process the break

Acknowledge what the separation stirs up emotionally, to be able to turn the page.

  2. Take stock

A review of skills and motivations, and better self-knowledge.

  3. Look ahead

Clarify life goals, imagine and evaluate options.

  4. Define the project

Choose a professional project and activate the resources to carry it out.

Frequently asked questions

Do you do outplacement?

No. We step in beforehand: to help the person process the break, take stock and define their professional project. The job search itself (résumé, applications, networking) is the work of an outplacement firm, which our coaching complements.

When should a coach be brought in?

As early as possible, ideally as soon as the departure is announced. That is often when the person needs it most, and when coaching makes the biggest difference, for them and for the team that stays.

In which situations?

A change of ownership or senior management, a dismissal, a return from sick or parental leave with no position available, or any separation the organization wants to handle with care.

Who pays for the coaching, and what does the employer know?

Usually the company, as part of the separation. What is said in sessions remains confidential between the person and their coach.

Can the coaching be done remotely?

Yes. We meet clients in Montreal, Quebec City and Paris, and thanks to online sessions we can support the person wherever they are.
